J P Holden would be appointed architect to Manchester Cathedral but in the period 1845-1850 commissions were undertaken in the joint name of the partnership
MANCHESTER CATHEDRAL: CHOIR SEATS - We understand that it has been determined to remove the singing men and boys of the cathedral choir from the west or great organ gallery into the centre of the nave and place them on seats on the floor, near and each side of the eagle. … The design and construction of these seats has been entrusted to Messrs I and J P Holden, architects of this city and considerable progress has already been made.
