Nile Mill. Folds New Road, Chadderton

Built by the Nile Spinning & Doubling Co Ltd. When built it was the biggest ring spinning mill in the world. It was also the last cotton mill to be built with a traditional beam engine, gear and vertical shaft drive. Additional storey added in 1905. Further extensions in 1907, 1912 and 1914, Ceased production in 1960 and subsequently used for warehousing.
