Oliver Heywood Memorial, Salford

The Salford memorial of the late Mr. Oliver Heywood was unveiled on Saturday afternoon by the Mayor of that borough. The memorial is placed at the junction of Broad-street and Cross-lane, and takes the form of a. red granite Obelisk, on the front of which is a bronze medallion of Mr. Heywood, with the dates of his birth and death underneath. On one side of the medallion is the coat of arms of the borough of Salford, and on the other side the coat of arms of the Heywood family. The memorial was designed and executed by Messrs. J. and H. Patteson, of Manchester.
