The Economic Printing and Publishing Company Limited has been incorporated with a capital of £100,000 in £1 shares. The Company is formed for the purpose of engaging in the business of cheap printing and publishing on a large scale. The Company will erect new workshops on a site near London, which the Directors have in view. The workshops will have good railway and cartage facilities. They will be erected from the designs of Mr William Dawes, architect, of Manchester and London. [Manchester Guardian 7 June 1890 page 6 – Commercial Intelligence]

In 1897, the Economic Printing and Publishing Company Limited had offices at 30 Bouvrie Street in the City of London. However by 18 November 1902 the company had been struck off the register of joint stock companies and thereby dissolved [London Gazette 18 November 1902 page 7358]. Dawes had previously been a director of the Main Printing, Stationery and Paper Company Limited [London Gazette 14 December 1875 page 6431] but was listed as architect only to the Economic Printing Company.
