THE NEW BRIDGE.—A company have taken up the project of the new bridge over the railway so long delayed by the Commissioners, and have obtained the sanction of the railway company to the project. The bridge will cross the line by the Hydropathic Establishment to Merllyn-road. The land surrounding it is also bought, upon which they will build suitable villas. If  the Commissioners will meet the company and assist with the bridge and northern approach, the former will be open, otherwise the company will do the work and place a toll-bar at the end of the bridge.

THE RAILWAY BRIDGE SCHEME.—At a subsequent special meeting, Mr Owen Edwards, architect, Wellington Chambers, attended and laid before the board the plans of a proposed new bridge over the railway which seems about to be carried out by persons independently of the board and with permission of the railway company. The plans now adopted are similar for the road and bridge as those the commissioners have previously inspected.
