Rochdale Sewage Scheme

To prevent the further pollution of the Roach, and to comply with the provisions of the Rivers Pollution Act, the Rochdale Town Council have instructed Mr R. Vawser, civil engineer, Manchester, to complete the necessary plans for intercepting and purifying the sewage of the borough. As the works will be very extensive, the plans cannot be got ready for some time. [Builder 14 December 1878 page 1315]
