ROYAL VISIT - The Chorlton Board of Guardians have decided upon the erection of a verandah round the first floor of the Union Offices, in Grosvenor Square, for the accommodation of the Guardians and their friends as the procession passes along Cavendish-street. As the offices occupy a prominent position on the line of route it has also been decided to have them effectively decorated for the occasion, and the Guardians have asked Mr. F. H. Overmann, architect, to submit designs for the floral decoration of the entire building. [Manchester Guardian 28 June 1905 page 7]
