Schools. St Patrick’s Livesley Street Manchester
Originally intended as a two-storey school for 520 children, the requirements were amended to provide a girl’s school with 1069 places.
Scenes of much local enthusiasm marked the laying of the foundation stone of the new Catholic school in St. Patrick's parish, Manchester, a ceremony performed last Saturday by his lordship the Bishop of Salford. Designed by Messrs Foden, Hemm and Williams, of Liverpool and Manchester, the school will be one of the largest Catholic elementary schools in the country, with accommodation for upwards of a thousand children. One of the features of the design is a covered roof playground. [The Tablet 16 July 1927 page 25]
