PLAYING FIELD FOR M.G.S.. OPENING BY THE LORD MAYOR - The playing field for the boys of the Manchester Grammar School was opened yesterday afternoon by the Lord Mayor of the city.... Mr Murgatroyd, an Old Mancunian and member of the Committee offered to draw up plans and obtain tenders for the pavilion. On 3 July 1898 a tender for £1125 was accepted.
