NEW SCHOOL AT WALKDEN – A new technical school built by the Lancashire County Council to beet the educational needs of the Worsley district was formally opened at Walkden yesterday afternoon. The school is a two storey building standing alongside Walkden Town Hall. It was built at a cost of about £10,000 to the design of the county architect, the site having been provided by the Worsley District Council. Accommodation is provided for 395 students.
