Three Houses, Oakwood Road, Romiley (atrib)
In his FRIBA nomination papers, Dunkerley listed "houses at Romiley" as one of the designs on which he wished to be assessed. There is no further clue to an address, but this group of houses at Hyde Bank on Oakwood Road, Romiley, are very much in the style he was developing at the time and was to use to maximum effect for his brother’s house at Mere. The group consists of a block of three terraced houses, each with a different layout. There is a date plaque on each end of the building stating "L 1901". The L probably refers to William Lancaster, who lived at the nearby Hyde Bank House and probably commissioned the terrace as an investment. He was a paper manufacturer and the proprietor of Arden Mill in Bredbury.
