Unidentified Cottage near Rochdale

A house somewhat similar in general scheme to Cashio Lane is the one designed for a site near Rochdale in Lancashire, and the illustrations here given show at a glance how much more compact and four-square a house may be when the conditions laid down by the site are favourable, and when compactness and squareness do not entail a sacrifice of greater advantages owing to the relations of approach, aspect and prospect.[Craftsman May 1911 p188]
