A new wholesale veal market has just been opened in connection with the Water Street abattoir, Manchester. The new erection is a red brick building, capable of holding the carcases of 2000 calves and is furnished with every requirement necessary for the business and there is ample accommodation at the abattoir for slaughtering, if needed. The new buildings have cost, with fittings, nearly ,3000 and the architects are Messrs Mangnall & Littlewoods. [British Architect 18 April 1884 Page 195]
