WOODVILLE - This building was erected for the late Richard K. Cooper, Esq., of the firm of Cooper & Sons, solicitors, Manchester. The walls are built of red brick ornamentally treated, and having dressings of Hollington stone. The roofs are slated with blue slates, lined with bands of green slates. The work was carried out by Mr. John Thompson, from the design of Mr. William Dawes, architect, Manchester. [British Architect 17 Nov 1876 page 316]

The date of construction is uncertain as the early issues of the British Architect illustrated works completed several years previously
